"Tips When You Have High Blood Pressure"

High Blood Pressure or Hypertension is one of the dangerous and killer diseases. So we should not neglect our own health. We have to pay attention about it and educate ourselves on the preventive and precautionary measures.

If you have high blood pressure and you're hypertensive, what will you do? Here are some of the important things to do to avoid stroke and other complications:

1. You have to lose weight especially if you are obviously overweight and/or obese. If you lose weight for at least ten pounds (10 lbs.), your blood pressure will also go down for about ten points.

2. You have to avoid eating salty foods. Salt increase your blood pressure.

3. You have to get enough quality rest and sleep, at least seven (7) to eight (8) hours every day. Sleeping and resting idle will greatly help all you body organs to function well without straining them too much.

4. You have to do some exercise for a least three (3) to five (5) times a week. This is for duration of thirty minutes up to one (1) hour. Simple walking and climbing stairs will do.

5. You have to avoid strenuous and stressful work. Stress causes high blood pressure. This includes physical, emotional and mental stress.

6. You must avoid anger. Your blood pressure goes high when you are angry. You will be straining you heart to much.

7. You have to drink a lot of water especially during hot summer season. Hot weather also affects you body to have high blood pressure, other than heat stroke.

8. You have to remember this important reminder: Eating garlic and drinking pineapple juice are not substitute or alternative medication for high blood pressure.

If your blood pressure is 140 over 90 or you feel signs and symptoms of high blood pressure, you have to take your medicines immediately and go to proper medical authorities. Be aware, be informed and be safe always.
