Netherlands Ambassador Leoni Margaretha Cuelenaere was at the Dhaka University’s Art Faculty on Monday to launch a photo exhibition when her bag was taken.

“Detective Branch (South) arrested two in connection with the theft. The contents of the bag have also been found,” said Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Deputy Commissioner Masudur Rahman on Wednesday. 

He did not immediately give out the identities of the suspects.

A press briefing over the arrests will be held at the DMP’s media centre.

Police had earlier said they spotted the thief from a security footage.
