Here’s THE camera for selfie lovers!

Just as the leaks suggested, HTC has officially announced the Desire Eye, a brand new smartphone aimed at cashing in on the selfie craze. The new smartphone’s main draw is the two 13-megapixel camera on the front and the back, accompanied by dual LED flash. Alongside the powerful cameras comes with HTC’s Eye Experience software, allowing users to take photos by simply steadying the shot, saying cheese or starting video by simply saying “action”.

HTC’s Desire line of smartphones usually settle being second fiddle to the company’s other higher end devices, but that’s not the case with the Desire Eye. The Desire Eye sports a top-of-the-line 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, along with 2GB of RAM and a large 5.2-inch full HD display. The HTC Desire Eye is also IPX7 rated, so it can be submerged in water up to a meter deep for up to 30 minutes without any issues.

Right now the HTC Desire Eye will be launched in the US as an AT&T exclusive, and no other launch plans have been revealed by the company.
