Many of the horrendous events in the community often stopped by on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter in the form of a meme-mem funny. Interestingly, many experts do not know why it is so successful meme caught the attention of netizens and social networking users.
Indiana University, United States, said it was trying to uncover the secret behind the evolution of ordinary photographs into a meme, including the reasons behind the boom in the parody images. Meme itself can be interpreted as a video, an image, or an expression of a person's mind contains fruit distributed via the internet.
Internet meme is currently known as the funny pictures that have been combined with a sentence or letters as a means to express opinions with the context of the lighter. These memes can be made by anyone and spread from one person to another through social media networks, blogs, or email.
Given the inspiration to make memes can come from anywhere, it is difficult to predict a meme that content can be boom or not. Therefore, the federal government was willing to donate money for the people to know the story behind the success of the meme in order to use it for the benefit of society.
The team of researchers from the University of Indiana reportedly received funds reached Rp 11 billion more to find out information about the life cycle of a meme. Four researchers will be involved in research meme called "Truchy". The team is also researching why only certain types of memes that can 'explode' in cyberspace, Ubergizmo (28/08).
Truchy project is also expected to make a model of the mechanism of spread of memes online. An internet service also will be made to help monitor mem rising and memes that are considered suspicious and contain the negative effects.
The results of the study will be available to the public in the form of open-platform-based data that include propaganda network, statistics, and other features of memes that are in cyberspace. Marketing firms can be predicted using these results as a weapon to develop a business.
