Louis lives in San Francisco, having left his band, while Lyla gave up performing and lives in Chicago. She is called to her father s deathbed and he admits that her child survived and is alive in New York. Alex O Loughlin as Marshall Connelly Bonnie McKee as Lizzy Timothy Mitchum as Joey Becki Newton as Jennifer Aaron Staton as Nick That s what drives him. We are very attached to those characters : the little prodigy of the music ; the guitarist, wasting his life with an other woman ; the cellist, who can t play anymore ; even the manipulator who just want to make money with children is captivating ! Determined to search for them, he makes his way to New York City. It s not a matter of mysticism or things like that : it s a matter of faith. The Hollywood Reporter reviewed the film positively, writing the story is about musicians and how music connects people, so the movie s score and songs, created by composers Mark Mancina and Hans Zimmer, give poetic whimsy to an implausible tale. There is a brilliant cast : I considerate Freddie Highmore as one the best boy-actor. Jonathan Rhys-Meyer is excellent, too, and he has a beautiful voice (perfect for the role).
