Weight LOSS

Posted on at

In today's world, people are so concerned about their physical appearance. Everyone has become self-conscious about how they look or in other terms how other people view them.

For instance, the society will either rate you too fat or too thin. where I come from the young ladies especially don't want to viewed as overweight, while on the other hand also there's a certain lot who don't strive to be curvy.

In an African setting curvy is the ideal look for a woman. A curvy woman is viewed to be sexy and fertile.

Any overlooking that the idea of weight loss has become a fad and an obsession for many both the young women and mothers who after giving birth are put under pressure to go back to their old size.

Plenty of times when you gain a lot of weight after childbirth the society would rate you as having let yourself go. Hence women result in drastic weight loss mechanisms.

When we speak about weight loss there are two types of weight loss:

1. a health regiment

2, surgical

3, an anything that works approach

If we look at the first option the healthy regiment it can come in several ways. At times it would involve an exercise routine and diets. One can enrol in a gym and enlist the services of a gym instructor and a nutritionist hence they watch both what they eat and also do exercise.

It can be both exercise and diet or either of the two.  If one was to consider diet there are so may diet program examples would include: ketogenic diet, the paleo diet, low-carb diet, vegan diet, the HCG diet, Atkins diet to name but a few. Dieting has been proved to work especially if followed religiously, however, these diets should only be embarked on after consultation with a doctor.

Exercising, on the other hand, is a sure way of losing weight however it involves hard work and sacrifice. It also needs commitment and is a program that needs a long-term commitment, for example, a daily routine of 20 minutes, 1 hour or even 2-hour workouts.

The last option is a trial and error with people opting for supplements or supposedly herbal or traditional regimens that are said to work.  There are various for example mangosteen, green tea etcetera.

Finally, after exhausting all the options, some people opt for surgical procedures to lose the excess weight. However, these procedures are sometimes very costly. This results to some people getting procedures done by unlicensed surgeons /quacks and sometimes resulting in dire health consequences.

When its all said and done we should strive to lead a healthy lifestyle, if by medical standards you're neither obese nor underweight you need not worry yourself about peoples opinions.

Eat a balanced meal jog or take a walk in the neighbourhood have an apple and lots of water you'll be fine.
