When Kiel was 10 years old, his parents threw a film camera in his hands, ending his ambitions to be an astronaut firefighter and catapulting him into the lifestyle of a starving filmmaker. Kiel continued his pursuits into high school where he shot a number of short films, sketches and with the help of other film students completed his first feature.

A Media graduate of Sheridan College, Kiel is currently working toward completing Ryerson University's Image Arts Film program. When not shooting short films or commercials, Kiel enjoys travelling, writing, photography, and watching more cartoons than an adult should.
