Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born on 9th november 1877. He was great philosopher poet and thiker. He is consiered one of the most important  fugures in urdu literature. He is know as shair-e-masriq meaning poet of the east. He is also called muffakir-e- Pakistan(the inceptor of pakistan) and hakeem-ul-ummat(the sage of ummah). Allama Iqbal has written different literary works. His famous works are: Asrar-e-khude, Ramuz-e-bekhudi, Payam-e-mashriq, Zaboor-e-ajam, Banj-e-dara, Bal-e-jabril and zarb-e-kleem etc. And my fariout payam-e-mashriq. He gave the muslim his message of re-awakening through his work.

Allama Iqbal had agreat role in muslim political movement. Iqbal had remained active in the muslim league. He was called upon to addres the muslim at all india muslim league conference held at Allahabad in 1930. Muslim of india in those days were passing though a very difficult time. Hindus dominated the muslim in the economic and social life of the country. Howaver, much they wished, the Muslim could not get rid of the Hindu domimation. Western ideas were also corruptomg the minds of muslim youth. Iqbal was deeply grieved to see that the muslim had thrown a away the great lesson of Islam and did not feel the loss.

Allama Iqbal awakened the muslim of india and lit a candel of freedom in the hearts. He made them realize that muslim and Hindus could not live together as one nation because they were to separate nation. There fore, muslims must have an independent sovereign state of their own.

Iqbal for the first time proposed thath muslims should have a separate state of their own. Only in there own homeland would muslim have freedom of thought and expression. Iqbal can be rightly called the dreamer of Pakistan. Iqbal warned muslim at the muslim league conference that if they did not unite in order to demand freedom of themsefls and there coming generation, they world b completely destroyed. Iqbal put his trust in the Pakistani youth and asked them to stem forward to safe the fature of Pakistani nation. Only then could muslims hope to live free and honourble lives. He stressed that only other faith can safe us because it is a great force which can guide us and put as on the right path. No achievememt is possible until vrelling to become good muslims. There fore, the teaching of Islam gaving to as in the Holy Quran have to be rightly understood. No philosophy, no religion other then Islam, can discipline us as a nation.

Islam recognizes the importants of both individil and ťhé community which Iqbal termend s'' Millat-e-Islamia " the way of life in the west is completely different from the life Islam offers. Islam commands us to gave away all that is superflous to our needs in the service of god. Man's private ownership is a trust from Allah and we are no more than mere guardian of the things in our possessions. The desire to possess more and more has been the cause of the downfall of many nations. Islam forbids us to follow the path of those who brought destruction themselves.

Iqbal gave Muslims a message of hope and purpose. No nation, he thought, could ever hope to improve its lot until brought about a change in itself. God does not change the conditiom of people until they themselves wants to change their comdition by comstantly working hard to achieve that change. The whole secret of life is the readiness to work harder. Only then we can rise in life.
