In the Philippines, we call this "undas" and it has been a norm that people working or living in a city go home to their hometown to pay respect to their dead love ones.

It is a common scenario that during these days it is traffic everywhere starting from the  day before the said undas.  All the kinds transportation are packed with people wanting to go home. People are lining up. During these days, there are not enough transportation to transport the passengers to their hometown. You even expect them sleeping in the terminal just not to leave the queue while patiently waiting for the next available ride.

For most Filipinos this is a day they consider "bitter sweet" occasion. Bitter because it will remind them their lost loved ones. It reminds them how they love ones suffer before they passed away. Sweet since this is one among the holidays an opportunity to unite with their family. They spend these two days cleaning the tomb and or having a picnic and even partying in the cemetery.
