China tries to use animals for prediction of earthquakes.

We all know that animals usually behave abnormally before an imminent earthquake. For example, chickens fly atop trees, fish leap out of water or toads move in a group. China is reported to have been trying to use these possible abnormal behaviours of animals for prediction of imminent earthquakes. With a view to achieve this goal, the seismological bureau of China has transformed seven animal farms in the eastern city of Nanjing into seismic stations. Breeders on the farms are asked to update the bureau about the behavior of the animals twice a day. There are also plans to recruit seven more farms into the scheme this year though some animal keepers are not willing to become involved in it.
