Security tightened in Delhi ahead of Republic Day of India.

As Indian intelligence agencies have warned of terror attacks from Pakistan-based terror outfits on the Republic Day celebrations on Thursday in Delhi, security has been tightened not only in the capital but also throughout the country ahead of the Republic Day with thousands of policemen and anti-aircraft guns deployed at strategic points. The Special Protection Group, which provides security to top leaders of the country including Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the Delhi Police to widen its searches and scan all buildings within 2.5 km of Rajpath which is the ceremonial road on which the Republic Day parade is held. Around 50,000 security personnel from the Delhi Police and central security forces have been have been deployed in the capital; the police are using anti-drone technology to protect against aerial attacks.
