Civil Disobedience

Civil disobedience is one of the many ways people have rebelled against what deem to be unfair laws,it is the professed refusal to obey laws and commands of government or an international power.

History tells us about so many movements of civil disobedience in the world in which people rebelled against their governments and refused to obey the laws made by the govts. For example,Egyptians started civil disobedience against the British Occupation in the 1919 revolution. In the subcontinent,Gandhi started this movement to get rid of British Empire.Czehoslovakia's Velvet Revolution is an example of civil disobedience in czehoslovakia, which was against the one party govt of the communist party. That disobedience resulted into the end of 41 years of Communist rule in Czechoslovakia, and in east Germany this movement was started to oust their communist governments.Civil rights movement of Americans ,the singing revolution to bring independence to the Baltic countries from Soviet Union, fight against apartheid in South Africa, the orange revolution in Ukraine and the Rose Revolution in Georgia are the examples of civil disobedience in the World.

Basically,it is the non violent resistance against the civil government.Civil disobedience can be integrity based, justice based or policy based according to the concerns and reservations of the citizens who rebell against the Powerful.

In Pakistan,PTI's Chairman Imran Khan has announced civil disobedience against the current govt of PMLN,as he wants audit of elections and then re-elections,and if govt doesn't meet their demands govt is being asked to resign.Pakistan is not in the condition to afford such type of movements as our armed forces are already busy in North Waziristan. Now this political extremism will create anarchy in the country.

Question is,what is the legitimacy of civil disobedience?Governments have generally not recognized the legitimacy of civil disobedience. And Clause 1 of the Article:6 of Pakistani constitution says that "any person who abrogates or subverts or suspends or attempts or conspires or hold in obeyance, the constitution by use of force or show of force or by any other unconstitutional means shall be guilty of high treason.

and clause 4 of the article gives responsibility to the parliament to provide punishment to the person found guilty of high treason.

So PTI is going against the constitution(this point must be debated as how they will start civil disobedience while sitting in Kpk govt) ,and punishment is also clear by the constitution.

That is a pressure building tactics or whatever, but I think This is a suicide attack on PTI ,a party which emerged as a third force in this country is being destroyed by its own founder courtesy to the suggestions given by Sheikh Rasheed type of elements around Imran Khan.
