Deadpool

is a 2016 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is the eighth installment of the X-Men film series. The film is directed by Tim Miller, with a screenplay by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T. J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, Stefan Kapičić, and Leslie Uggams. InDeadpool, Wade Wilson hunts down the man who subjected him to an experiment that left Wade with new abilities, including an accelerated healing factor, and a scarred physical appearance.

Development of the film began in February 2004 with New Line Cinema. However, in March 2005, New Line Cinema put the film inturnaround and 20th Century Fox became interested. In May 2009, 20th Century Fox lent the film to writers, and in April 2011, Miller was hired to direct. Principal photography commenced in Vancouver, Canada, in March 2015 and ended in May.

Deadpool premiered in Paris on February 8, 2016, and was released on February 12, 2016 in North America in IMAX, DLP, D-Boxand premium large formats. The film had the highest-grossing opening weekend for an R-rated film in North America, and broke numerous other box office records, while receiving generally positive reviews, with critics praising Reynolds' performance, the humor, and the action sequences, but criticizing the plot as formulaic. A sequel has been greenlit.

MUSIC

Tom Holkenborg, better known as Junkie XL, confirmed on his Twitter account that he would score the soundtrack for the movie.[58] The soundtrack album was released digitally on February 12, 2016, featuring music composed by Holkenborg and music by other artists. Physical copies of the soundtrack will be available on March 4, 2016 through Milan Records.[59]

The soundtrack features the song "Deadpool Rap" by YouTube personalities "TeamHeadKick", which was originally inspired by theDeadpool video game released in 2013; the version on the film soundtrack features the lyrics updated to reference the events of the film instead of elements of the game

Box office
As of February 17, 2016, Deadpool has grossed $172.4 million in North America and $153 million in other territories for a worldwide total of $325.4 million.[4] It had a worldwide opening of $264.9 million from 62 markets, which is the biggest of 2016, the biggest for an R-rated film, and the second biggest for Fox, only behind Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith ($303.9 million).[78][79] It also recorded the biggest IMAX 2D worldwide opening of all time with $27.4 million from 606 IMAX theaters, eclipsing The Dark Knight Rises ($23.8 million).[80][81]
