Earthquake at Nepal.

A powerful earthquake with magnitude of 7.8 struck Nepal before noon Saturday. It is reported to be the worst temblor to hit the country in over 80 years. At least 700 people have been killed and many are still buried under debris as the violently shaking earth collapsed houses, leveled centuries-old temples and triggered avalanches in the Himalayas. The tremor continued for at least 2 minutes and was followed by an aftershock with magnitude-6.6 that hit about an hour later.  The epicenter was at a depth of 10 km at Pokhran and Kathmandu was the worst affected. Smaller aftershocks continued to ripple through the region for hours. The tremor was also felt in the adjoining areas of India and Bangladesh where also some people were killed. The Nepal government has asked for international help to tide over the worst disaster.
