An advertisement for PATA Travel Mart 2015 which will be held at Bengaluru from September 6 to 8 this year has published a distorted map of India with parts of Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast missing from it. The advertisement has been published in a Malaysian magazine allegedly by the Karnataka government which has, however, denied any role in the advertisement. The BJP, which pointed out the lapse, has sought an explanation from the Congress government ruling Karnataka. It is very strange that we have earlier accused China and some other foreign countries for distorting the map of India but now the accusation is against a state government within the country. So, the offenders must be punished.
