Hooch tragedy is not new in India. It is a common practice in India that the bootleggers mix methanol which is not meant for human consumption in the country-made liquor to increase its potency and it often turns poisonous and causes tragic death of the consumers.  This time a hooch tragedy has occurred in Malwani in Mumbai and the death toll has already risen to 33 apart from serious conditions of at least ten.  Three persons have been arrested in this connection and a thorough probe has been going on.
