Hull City v Liverpool Tips ( 28/04)

Posted on at

Both Hull City and Liverpool are looking to take the advantage of their game in hand as the duo are in need of Premier League points, albeit for very different reasons.

Liverpool's chances of reaching the top four are all but extinguished. The Reds have endured a difficult season following the summer sale of talismanic forward Luis Suarez and with Daniel Sturridge spending much of the season on sidelines, they've struggled to recapture the attacking verve that made them so difficult to face last season.

Saturday's 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion was a further blow to Rodgers' chances of success this term, coming less than a week after an unexpected FA Cup semi-final defeat at the hands of Aston Villa. Rodgers needs to end the season strongly, starting with a win here at evens with bet365.

Hull City's season has also been a disappointing one. Early exits from both domestic cup competitions and even more disappointingly the Europa League, following the Tigers' qualification via the FA Cup, have dented spirits at the KC Stadium - but not as much as the team's poor league form this season.

There were high hopes on Humberside following a seemingly successful summer transfer window but the Tigers actually find themselves in the relegation scrap at the bottom of the league. At this stage, every point is important and you can back Hull to pick one up here at 13/5 with Betfred or all three at 7/2 with Totesport.

That said, the Tigers did pick up a vital away win over the weekend at Crystal Palace. A brace from striker Dame N'Doye was enough to earn Steve Bruce's men a huge 2-0 win and without the three points they subsequently picked up from that result, the Tigers would currently be in the bottom three.

But wins like that breed confidence and now, in front of the forever passionate Hull home support, we fancy Bruce's side to put on another good show against a Liverpool team that looks devoid of confidence following that Cup defeat and Saturday's goalless draw with West Bromwich Albion. We're going for a Hull/Draw double chance bet at 10/11 with Paddy Power.

N'Doye looked like a real threat at Selhurst Park. Although there was some luck involved in his first goal down in the capital, his second was a fine finish and his strength and movement was a constant thorn in the Palace defender's side. If he can produce another similar performance in this game, expect another goal from the former Lokomotiv Moscow forward at any time at 5/2 with Betfair.

This match will be a very difficult one for the Reds. Two away games in a matter of days is hardly an ideal situation for Brendan Rodgers' side and as their top four hopes diminish, as does their confidence. Hull on the other hand have every thing to play for and they'll take some confidence from their weekend win.
