India’s Mars Orbiter 'Mangalyaan' today will enter the "blackout" phase which means there will be snapping of communication with the satellite from the Earth. This phase will persist from June 8 to 22 during which the sun will block Mars from the earth, thus snapping communication with the satellite. Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) during this period will go into an "autonomous mode" and will take its decisions. This is a temporary phase and control over the satellite will be regained again once the blackout phase is over.
