John Kerry, US Secretary of State, in Kabul and Women Empowerment

I celebrated New Year’s Day, Nowruz with my family. I was curious about who I would meet in Afghanistan. So, I emailed my partner Francesco Rulli to have his opinion on whether or not I should cut my vacation short, and he agreed I should.

Speaking with my family about spending less time for vacation was difficult for me, but they understood my situation and business priorities. We were back on Monday after a long flight and two stops, first in Kanhdar where my grandfather is from. I couldn’t get off the plane, but it was nice to see Kanhdar, even if couldn’t go there. When we arrived in Kabul, my youngest sister Elaha and I went to the US embassy. There, the officer explained how we would introduce our business to a special person. I could guess that this person would be very important and thought it might be Ms. Clinton, but she was sick.

Elaha and I found out later that I would meet with John Kerry, the US Secretary of State. It was a great and unbelievable opportunity to meet him personally. I tried to talk with confidence in front of him. It was a big honor to meet him and talk about our businesses. He arrived at 10 AM. At that time, all the business women were excited to show their business products. Every business woman had a chance to explain and show her work, and I was the third. He started by asking who I was, what my business and background were, which software we developed. I talked about the Examer Software, our interactive and educational social platform with micro scholarship payment system. He became interested in it when I started talking about the number of viewers that we have on our web channel, and the revenues that we reinvest to build more schools. He was very impressed with our projects, and emphasized: “please keep going on”.

When I see the satisfaction and happiness in the face of everyone who I talk about our projects, I feel proud to say yes, we did it all in one year.

Francesco Rulli, my partner at Film Annex, is the key to the success of the Afghan Development and Women’s Annex projects. He always supports the education and empowerment of women.

Since, we created together the Citadel of NYC and brought change in the life of thousands of female students who want to achieve their goals. We established the Afghan Development Project to improve girls’ education level to have a future impact on their life and economic situation. The Afghan Development Project targeted 40 schools in Herat and created 8 centers for girls to educate and empower them through social media so they can have a better life. Now, more than thousands students are registered in the Examer Software, our interactive and educational platform with micro payment for the best students.

I feel proud when I look at the Afghan Development Project, how it grew in one year, and how we connected more than 30 girls schools to the world and provided training in social media for thousands of students. In fact, the project focuses on increasing women’s skills: capacities, rights and opportunities for their future.

Francesco and I started the Women’s Annex idea to improve the lives of thousands of women in the world, especially in Afghanistan, South and Central Asia.

We encourage our female bloggers to write about economy, political progress, development, culture, etc. and using a list of keywords that we provided them with, so they can share their ideas with the world, and receive an income. This is target marketing which women can benefit from, simply by improving their writing skill and marketing their thoughts.

Women’s empowerment brings freedom for women so they can make decisions, be independent and build confidence. By writing blogs, women can raise their voices, support their families and communicate with the world through their blogs and online film distribution.

Francesco Rulli Said in his blog "

Women’s Annex is a powerful tool to transform the lives of thousands of women in Afghanistan, Central and South of Asia. The platform enables women to distribute movies online, write blogs and share their experience. This amazing platform will change lives, empower thousands of women who are interested in social media and the development of countries like Afghanistan, Central and South Asia.

I appreciate that Mr. Rulli provided this great platform and opportunities for millions of people.
