Why Kerala continues to remain a favourite tourism destination

Tourism has turned out to be a boon and a bane for India. The wide spread marketing has helped more people from the country and overseas discover some amazing tourism destinations. However, the complaint most often received is that the influx of people has spoilt many such popular locations. We hear reports of how the Dal Lake is in dire need of cleaning up, how the state government is making serious efforts to keep Juhu Beach and Chowpatty clean etc. Nevertheless, one place continues to still attract tourists. We are referring to the green and lush state of kerala.

The main allure of this location is the greenery. Inspite of the rise of modernization, there is a huge amount of green cover still available. Since it is located in the southern part of India, the humidity is on the higher end. But the large amount of coconut plantations ensure that people visiting the state do not face the harshness of the sun. The large interconnected backwaters also play a huge role. They add to the charm of the place and provide tourists options like houseboats and boat races. The friendly and helping nature of the locals is the icing on the cake for every visitor.
