'Now You See Me' - Review

Posted on at

Okay, so I have this film on in the background as I'm writing this, for the third time in the same amount of days, which probably says more than any actual review could.

I saw the adverts for this movie, pretty much as soon as there were adverts on TV, and I liked the idea then - especially that every trick is theoretically possible ... But having seen it multiple times, I want to say that it FAR exceeds my already high expectations. If you haven't seen it already, then go out now and buy it - it is that good!

I don't want to write too much about the plot, but it follows the story of four magicians, known as the 'Four Horsemen' (comprising of Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson and Dave Franco) who rob banks without ever leaving the stage and FBI / Interpol agents (Mark Ruffalo and Melanie Laurent) who track them and try to unravel how it was all done, with backing from the millionaire Michael Caine and ex-magician Morgan Freeman.

In essence that is the story, but there are twists and turns and red herrings throwing you off the scent for the whole film, so by the time you reach the end, not only are you completely engrossed, but you're blown away by the much bigger picture.

The acting from everybody involved in this film is impeccable and the plot itself is ... Engrossing. It doesn't matter of you dislike magic, I can almost guarantee that you will enjoy it - not only is there mystery and a little bit of action, but intermittent bits of comedy that make you chuckle without you realising.

I can't say enough how much I enjoy this film - suffice it to say that watching it three times in three days, is not enough and I will definitely be watching it again soon.

I believe this film to be one of the best films of 2013 and I urge you to watch it, in fact, message me if you don't think the same way and tell me what parts you find disappointing, or what parts you found interesting.
