Of Like a Dawn

She never let me be,
and it'll never let it go,
she holds me at her wrists,
her crooked heart that rips me in two.

I was on my knees,
and keep begging please,
I could not look at her eye,
her piercing stare as vague as the sky.

She is as silent as the night,
and deceives you in sight,
she'll get anything you ever owned,
like a wicked curse or being poisoned.

But,

I am of like a dawn!
A ray of light that shines after the storm.
I am not who I used to be,
but like a seed that sprouts to be a tree.

Thank you for reading.
