Lugaw for Filipinos  -Rice Porridge, Congee or Arroz Caldo

It is made with ordinary  rice or glutinous rice which sauteed  in Garlic, Onion and Ginger, usually with chicken meat and stock, garnish with Safflower, young onion stalks (leaves) or Malunggay leaves (moringa)  and boiled Egg slices. And lugaw is not complete without the Calamansi

It is very healthy and nutritious, it is best and good to serve in sick persons since Ginger is for curing pain,sickness such cough & cold, brings back the loss of appetite.

Safflower also good for treating fever, cough/breathing problems,pains and heart disease. But don't always  serve or includes this ingredient to a pregnant, excessive amount can cause miscarriage.
