Contains 4,590 hadiths, this book is written by Imam Abu Daud. His complete name is Ibn Al Asy’ats Ibn Ishaq As Sijistani. He is student of Imam Ahmad Ibn Hambal. There are many scholars who praised him because his great memorization and comprehension. He was born in Sijistan on 202 H/817 CE, passed away in Basra on 275 H/888 CE.

Sunan Abu Daud book is contains a choice hadith of 500,000 hadiths. He tried to choose sahih (beyond reproach) hadiths, although there are some dhaif (weak) hadiths there.

Imam Abu Daud wandered to countries where there are hadith teachers like Khurasan, Rayy, Kuffah, Baghdad, Basra, Damascus, and Egypt. In this various countries, he studied from famous teachers like Yahya Ibn Main, Abu Amr Al Dharir, Abu Walid Al Thayalisi, Sulaiman Ibn Harb, Usman Ibn Abi Shaibah, Ahmad Ibn Hambal, Abdullah Ibn Maslamah, and Qutaibah Ibn Sa’id.
