Some precious animals of Pakistan... Part 1/3

Wild life of Pakistan truly represents the greater geographic and ecological diversity of Pakistan. Here a wide range of wild life exists. Many precious animals , birds and insects are present here. There are many tropical forest in Pakistan present in Abbottabad, Muree, Mansehra , Kashmir , Hunza , neelam valley and Swat etc.

Here are many animals that are native to Pakistan only. They can not be found any where else in the world.

Some of these animals are....

Indus Blind Dolphin...

These dolphin are also called Bhulan. It is Pakistan marine mammal. It is the most endangered river animal. Its eye site is very weak and it is found in the muddy water in river Indus. That's why it is called Indus Blind Dolphin.

These dolphins has long beak with thickness towards top, revealing the long teeth the mouth line curve towards upward.

The body is stocky with round belly. the flippers are large and paddle shape.

The forehead is steep and there is a blow hole on the left side of head, above the tinny poorly seeing eyes.The colour of these dolphins is grey-brown.

Length of body can be between 1.5 to 2.5m and weight can be up to 90kgs.

The diet of these dolphins is verity of see animals including fish , crap, catfish etc.

The wooly Flying Squirrel....

 

This is a very interesting animal.The wooly Flying Squirrel is found in Pakistani Kashmir.It is the largest member of the Sciruidae family and the most massive gliding animal known till now.It can glide other flying animals although it has a huge mass than them.

It population is suggested between 1,000 to 3,000 in Pakistan.

The wooly Flying Squirrel is very large for flying squirrel.The cheek teeth are unique as they are both flat-crowned and high crowned. It has fur which is long and thick with a grizzled pattern which look like wool .

It feeds on plant material for example: Pine needles, buds, cones etc.

Green Sea Turtle....

This is a hard skin sea turtle. They are found on most of the beaches of Pakistan. Every year thousands of female turtles came to the beaches to lay eggs. wild life departments built thousands of nests to protect their eggs.

between 1980 to 1997 17,008 nests are recorded but these numbers are decreasing every year.

The size and weight of turtle is depend on their habitat.

Green turtles eats sea grass and seaweed. these turtles shallow, inshore sea water.
