Turkey has declared a three-month state of emergency following the recent failed coup in the country. Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan after a meeting with Cabinet ministers and top security advisers spoke to the media yesterday stating that the measure was being taken to counter threats to Turkish democracy and was in no way intended to curb basic freedoms in the country. Let’s hope that Turkey can tide over the crisis very soon.
