Sumatra Island

 

        Sumatra Island is a part of the Sunda Islands and is located entirely in Indonesia.It isn’t densely populated, but a lot of diversities is found on the island.there are 52 tribal language and a vast diversity across the island in the way of living of the people. 87% of the people on Sumatra are Muslims. Sumatra is home to 22%of Indonesia’s population.  Unlike other islands, Sumatra is not the one offering rest peace and soothing experience. It's more of an adventurous experience here. To enjoy the best of Sumatra, you have to have a tough travelling skin. Most of its climate is hot except for the highlands and is always moist by the continuous rains. The smoking volcanic craters, the muddy jungle paths, the wide range of wildlife consisting of 201 mammal species and 580 bird species, especially the wild Orangutan make it a heaven for people with a taste for adventure. There’s a lot to do in Sumatra Island for the visitors, be it scuba diving through a sculpted underwater landscape at Palau Weh or enjoying the view of a picturesque volcanic lake at Danau Maninjau.Sumatra is not a joyride exactly, but an adventure packed fun-ride for sure
