Tamil Nadu government withdraws 300,000 text books for error in chief minister’s name.

The economics and history schools’ text books in Tamil Nadu, which were printed by the government-owned Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation had a great error of still listing DMK president M Karunanidhi as the state's chief minister in the preface, even four years after AIADMK chief J.Jayalalithaa replacing him. The error came to light when a teacher in the Coimbatore district pointed it out and the officials in the education department immediately asked the schools to recall the text books. It is however not clear how it remained unnoticed for so many years.  The number of books recalled is around 300,000.
