The Boston Tea Party

Posted on at

On December 16th 1773 a political protest by the Sons of Liberty originally called "the Destruction of the Tea in Boston" and later as the Boston Tea Party occurred in Boston in the then Thirteen Colonies.

A shipment of tea belonging to the East India Company was destroyed by being thrown into the harbour by protesters dressed as American Indians. The protest was over tax. That turned out well didn't it? The US now has some of the highest taxes in the world.

The situation escalated until the American Revolutionary War began in 1775.
