THE POPULATION PROBLEM IN PAKISTAN

Posted on at

Over population is one of the major issues for the people of Pakistan. The population of Pakistan has been increasing very rapidly. According to the census held in 1981, the total population of the country was 83782000, this number almost doubled in the census of 1997, it is estimated that the population of the country is well over 180 millions.

That is why, Pakistan society is faced with multifarious problems including unemployment, illiteracy, price hike, non-availability of hospitals, schools, colleges and shortage of food etc. The present increase in the population growth is 3.5 percent. Our per capita income is very low and the standard of our people is miserable.

The population is Pakistan is growing at a rapid pace. The main cause of population growth is illiteracy. A large majority of our people fel that population planning goes against the tenets of Islam. That is way, all schemes to mobilize to people to this end have failed miserably. In Islam, the concept of a poor and diseased society does not exist.

Islam lays emphasis on the attainment of education. It would be unwisely to produce illiterate and foolish children without caring for their proper upbringing. A limited refined education family is welcomed against a battalion of brutes and savages. Over population he given birth to a large of problems, the greatest of them is unemployment.
