A report by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) reveals that each year around 40 million tonnes of electronic waste are produced around the world from various sources like old smartphones, TVs, laptops and obsolete kitchen appliances. Unfortunately about 90 per cent of these harmful waste products find the way illegally to Asia and Africa every year.
