At Beijing Badaling Wildlife World where visitors are allowed to drive their own cars safari style through an open space where the animals roam free, a tragic incident took place Saturday in which one woman was killed and another injured by free roaming tigers. It is learnt that while driving, there was an altercation as a result of which one of the women left the vehicle and was quickly attacked by a tiger which dragged her off, prompting the second woman to leave the vehicle in an attempt to help. Another tiger mauled her to death, before carrying off her body. The two women were accompanied by a man who aided a rescue attempt. There was also a small child with them, fortunately he was uninjured. It is to be mentioned here that visitors are cautioned not to alight from their vehicles. The injured woman is, however, recovering from her wounds in hospital.
