A blog about people who write blogs about blogging...

(and what they forgot to tell you)

...and yes, I am aware of the irony behind this...for you see,  once I began writing a blog about people who write blogs about blogging, I inadvertently became the very thing that I sat out to undermine in the first place...whoa...that's too much for my brain to process...let alone, comprehend.

However, I digress...

....let the blog about people who blog about blogging commence.

Stating the obvious

I cannot believe how many blogs out there are actually about what blogs should be about. Not to overstate the obvious, but ultimately your blog should be about something you're passionate about, however, don't just be a carbon-copy of the next person. Accentuate and expand on your already stellar personality...let your voice come through onto the page. Blog on whatever you feel is right; not what someone has suggested you blog about.

Keep it real

(Whatever the heck that means...)

The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines this nomenclature as: to talk and behave in an honest and serious way that shows who one really is (merriam-webster 2018) And yes, "Keeping it real" can be difficult to attain in this age of instant gratification, but if you can 'keep it real' throughout your blog, people are going to see that your opinion is genuine. You aren't going to be persuaded to think or act a certain way just because that is what everyone else is doing. No. You are your own person. Allowed to think, act and say whatever you feel and this should be very apparent in your blog. Let your individualism ring out through your voice and just be yourself.

Blogging makes you feel good

(Ghostbusters reference?? Anyone??)

With all of this buzz around affiliate marketing, digital advertising, social media ads, Google Ad sense etc...its easy to get caught up in the myriad of monetary avenues that are available and to start seeing dollar signs. Let's just be honest... You should blog because you have something meaningful to say. You should blog because you want to help others. And above all, you should blog because you want to. You should not be extrinsically motivated to blog due to some tangible 'reward' (i.e.,$money$).

Dear diary...

In the end, blogging should be a reflection of your daily viewpoints on life as you see it. Each of us has uniquely different ways of seeing the world and that is what makes each persons' blog exciting and interesting to read. It wouldn't be any fun if all of our blogs were the same...

(Author's note: If, by chance, you happen to be one of the people that I am discussing throughout this blog, don't take it personal. I believe that you are doing a good thing and you should continue to do so. I'm just pointing out the satirical aspects of blogging about blogging and pointing out key factors that, I felt, were not touched upon...By no means am I putting you down or making fun of you.)
