Amer fort

 

 

Amer fort is situated in the state of Rajasthan in a small town of Amer.  The fort is situated on hill and it is a well known tourist place in India. The fort has artistic style of Hindu factor and has wide and large ramparts, number of gates and paved paths. The unique fort of Amer is also called Amer palace because it has interior like palace. The fort has a public hall often known as Diwan-e- Aam , a private hall known as Diwan-e-Khas, a mirror palace known as Shish Mahal, and a partition called Sukh Niwas that has a unique structure where the winds create a cool environment.  The main entrance of the fort is called Sun Gate (Suraj Pole) which is also called the first courtyard of the palace. The first courtyard has a temple of Shila Devi temple.  In the second court yard the public hall (Diwan-e-Aam) is located, where all the public meeting of the king was held.  The Third courtyard has its different entrance called Ganesh Gate (Ganesh Pole) this courtyard consist of two buildings separated by a garden.  Shish Mahal is situated in the left building of the court yard.  Magic Flower, Palace of Raja Man Singh, Tripolia Gate amd Lion gate are the other attraction of this courtyard. The fourth courtyard of the palace is the residence place of the Royal family women.  The Palace has been listed in the list of 100 endangered sites of the world by World Monument Fund.
