Bhujia Fort

 

Bhujia is a post spotted in the edge of the town of Bhuj in the locale of Kutch, Gujarat. The city of Bhuj gets its name from the Bhujia slope on which Bhujia Fort was built for the guard of the city by Jadeja Chief, Rao Godaji. The Fort is based on a slope neglecting the town.

 

The development of Bhujia stronghold was begun by Rao Godaji leader of Kingdom of Kutch as a kind of outwork guard for Bhuj. Then again, the significant work and finishing was carried out amid the tenet of his child, Maharao Deshalji I. The slope was invigorated as a further help to the barrier of the capital, Bhuj. Devakaran Sheth, Diwan of Kutch amid Rao Deshalji I led the pack in sustaining the slope. The Fort has seen six real fights following its development, the majority of which were battled in the years 1700-1800 AD between the Rajput leaders of Kutch and Muslim bandits from Sindh and the Mughal leaders of Gujarat.

 

The principal real fight at Bhujia Fort was battled amid the early piece of the rule of Deshalji , when Sher Khan, a Mughal Viceroy of Gujarat around then, attacked Kutch. The armed force of Kutch was in an unstable condition, when a gathering of Naga Bawas got the door of Bhujia Fort opened through a stratagem on affection of going by Nag sanctuary for love and afterward joined in the conflict against Sher Buland Khan's armed force, putting them to flight. Since that day Naga Bawa and their pioneer have had a position of imperativeness in a parade hung on Nag Panchmi.
