Byblos Castle is a Limestone castle, which is situated in Byblos in Lebanon. It was built in 12th century by the Crusaders. The Moat was surrounding to the Byblos castle when they finished the structures. The Castle belongs to Genoese Embrace Family; whose members were the family of lords of Gibelet. It was also called as Byblos during middle Ages. In the year 1188, Saladin captured the town as well as the castle and dismantled the walls in 1190. Later to that the crusaders recaptured the Byblos and rebuilt the castle in 1197. In Later Cypriot vessels from Famagusta had to fend off an attack to the castle in 1369.

The Byblos Castle Has made himself distinguished historical buildings to the neighbors. Near the castle, there are few Egyptian temples are there. There are much historical architecture are there like Phoenician Royal Necropolis and the Roman Amphitheatre. There are many testaments to the varied and the rich history of the town of Byblos. Byblos is one of the richest and the most famous historical castle in the world. It is listed In the top contenders for the oldest inhabitant of the city award. The Byblos word derived from the Greek word (Bibilion) which means (Book). Byblos is also the center of Adonis Cult.
