Cold spells to affect northern Vietnam from tomorrow

The northern and central regions of Vietnam are forecast to have rains tomorrow and the day after tomorrow








The northern Vietnam will be affected by two cold spells tomorrow and the day after tomorrow while the central region is forecast to have more rains, according to the Central Hydrometeorology Center.


Several provinces in the north will also have rains from tomorrow. Central provinces may have heavy raining and strong winds.


The area of the Northern Gulf will have winds blowing from 39-49 kph from early morning of Sunday and will strengthen to 62-74kph in the following day.


The northern area of the East Vietnam Sea, including Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelago, will have rough seas and strong winds.


Under the influence of the cold spell, the central Quang Ngai Province has had heavy rains with the popular rainfall from 100 to 150mm. Specially, the rainfall in Tra Bong was 203mm and Minh Long 205mm.


Central provinces from Ha Tinh to Phu Yen may have rains lasting from two to three consecutive days, with the rainfall up to 200mm.


Flashfloods and landslide are warned in the provinces, according to the weather forecast agency.
