Education in Afghanistan

Education is the process of teaching of knowledge by teachers to the students. Education has three key elements Teacher, Student and educational environment (schools universities training centers) etc.

Education in Afghanistan before 2002m was a little different with other countries of the world. While our country Afghanistan is one of the worst affected countries by violence against schools. Especially during the last three decades of civil devastating wars. All the infrastructures and buildings of primary, secondary, high schools and universities were destroyed and textbooks were burned. Schools remained close; the educated middle class teachers have left the country. Education was stopped for several years for both sexes (boys and girls) about in 80 percent of Afghanistan including capital Kabul and provinces. Girls were not allowed to enroll in schools to learn knowledge. After years Just boys had chance to go to school and could continue studying in runs of schools majority of schools had no building boys set under sunshine in school court some of them set under Tents which was donated by NGOs like WHO etc. despite all problems in education system in Afghanistan till 2002.  The people of Afghanistan wished all the times that their children study in schools and get educated in order to build their damaged schools. Successfully long civil war of the country was ended in 2001 by cooperation of international community again peace came to Afghanistan. By financial loan and credit of World Bank in Education sector of our country y, ministry of education started rebuilding damaged schools and thousands of 8-classroom and 16-classroom schools for girls and boys in all over remote areas of Afghanistan were built. All girls obtained their rights of studying and enrolled to schools Building and renovation of Education system of the country was the first priority tasks of one of the elected government of Afghanistan. Ministry of Education tried to gather expert Afghans and foreigner educational experts in order to make the new curriculum for education of Afghanistan. Then domestic and foreigners education experts were hired in MOE worked hard on new curriculum it lasted about two years. New textbooks from first grade to twelve grades was published and distributed to students.

I can say, that the education development in Afghanistan started since 2002. New strategic plan was made for Education in Afghanistan by pedagogy experts. Another important activity in education sector is establishment of private schools by ministry of education. During last current decade a great changes happened new educated teachers hired , laboratories of schools furnished by practical materials. People of the U.S.A donated some small laptops for elementary schools of Kabul city. The students have access to new educational technologies. Also gymnasiums of sports were built in schools because the students motivate to sport. In recent years a number of girl students of girl high schools of Afghanistan received short term scholarship From United State of America in order to exchange the views and sports with USA girl students. I believe that we can keep the long term peace for our country by hard studying and education. Education is the key of prosperity, improvements, progression, and development of Afghanistan. education  improves literacy and provide access to information for students. Therefore, distance education is part of education system in Afghanistan. People can get information by Educational radios internet and TVs.

At the conclusion I want to talk about types of Education in Afghanistan, there are about eight types of education in the country, like General education, Islamic education, Teacher training, technical and vocational, literacy, private schools, and community based schools and cross border schools.
