It is one of the well-known mausoleum place of Muhammad Ail Shah in Bijapur, Karnataka. It is a significant tombstone of Indo-Islamic structural design recognized for its astonishing size and exceptional acoustic features. The Gol Gumbaz comes in size after the St. Peter's Basilica, Rome. The size of the dome is of Gol Gumbaz is 124 feet in the diameter. The structural design of this building is sole in the intelligence that the four minarets themselves are stairways leading to the peak dome. It is an astounding structural design wonder as the dome of the building positioned without any pillars. The most interesting and extraordinary characteristic of this building is its acoustical system. Even if the people whispers a little sound that echoes around the dome several times. The corridor in the region of the dome of this building gives a magnificent sight of the town.

 

The most amazing features of this building are the heavy bracketed cornice below the walls and the four corners with seven storied octagonal spires. TI was constructed in the year 1656 by the Muhammad Adil Shah. It has a height of 51 meters, floor region of 1700 sq. and a diameter of 37 meters. After the death of late Muhammad Adil Shah, the enormous Gol Gumbaz was dominated as the landscape to the Bijapur, Karnataka.
