History of French Fries...!

Eat once and you will strive for More...!!

French fries are one of my favorite food.Those golden, crispy,long,fluffy thing makes my mouth watery....

We eat fries with Mayo,ketchup,chutney,garlic sauce,salt,pepper,etc..

when i start eating them,i can't move my hand from that platter where the fries are kept.I bet you too can't.

Eating fries isn't healthy, but can't say No to it..!!let's talk about it...

ORIGIN:

The exact origin is not yet known.

i am sure like me many thought France to be it's real Origin,

But that's not true,according to many people.Some say that it's origin is Of Belgium.

It so happened that poor villagers of Belgian in the past use to eat fried FISH.During winters the river use to freeze,resulting in shortage of food.

They had to find some way or else they would starve to death.So they got the idea of Potatoes.They slice it and fried it like the fish and so the fries came to origin.People

also consider it to be from Spain,as Spaniards were the first to encounter South American Potatoes.

some people even think that in 1780,it was sold by street Vendors in Paris point Neuf.

The founder:

"Antoine- Augustin Parmentier" was born in Montdidier located in the Nothern France. in 12 August 1737 and died in 1813.He was Agronomist and chemist in army.All the french Soldiers during World War 1 were given to eat the potatoes,when they were imprisoned in Prussia.Surprisingly, they were not under-nourished and exhausted..He promoted potatoes in his own way,and won the prize in 1733,also ensured that potatoes was part of diet for prisoners and hospitals.By early 1899,potatoes became basic everyday diet for french people.

FRIETMUSEUM IN BELGIUM:

It is located just five minutes walk away from old square Market in the city of Bruges.The museum is devoted to spuds and provides information about history of potatoes.The museum contains second houses utensils used for cooking and slicing the potatoes into fries.

Top floor is filled with toys,clock,pencil,eraser,delivery car in potato shapes.The center of the room highlights french fry shop.you can pretend to sell.There is even a role play pretending to be a potato for kids.

kids will surely enjoy the museum.

Afterwards you have to come to the basement to place an order of fries.You must eat some of them.Watching them making fries would be cool..!!
