Lata Mangeshkar is famous singer from India. She has many records in singing.

Lata Mangeshkar is the supreme voice of the Indian music. She is an Institution of Indian Music. Lata Mangeshkar was born on 28th September, 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Her father, Pt. Deenanath Mangeshkar was a classical singer. He came from Mangeshi in Goa. 

Lata Mangeshkar has been active in all types of Indian popular and light classical music. She has sung film songs, ghazals, bhajans and pop. She has the record of most recorded artist in the world (Almost 30000 songs) in the Guinness Book of Records. She has sung songs in 20 Indian languages between 1948 and 1987. After father’s death, her family faced economic issues so Lata had to act in as many as 8 films in Hindi and Marathi Between 1942 and 1948. She made her debut as a playback singer in the Marathi film in 1942 but the song was not launched.

 

First film was ‘Aap ke Sewa Me’ in which she gave playback voice but her singing went unnoticed. But now she is most loved voice in India. She has been awarded highest civilian award ‘Bharat Ratna’ for her contribution in Indian music.
