Marilyn Monroe: Most famous woman

Monroe was born in June 1926. Her real name was Norma Jeane Mortenson. Her father was not available to her so she spent many years in foster homes as an orphan. Monroe’s husband was Jimmy Dougherty, she married to him in 1942. When her husband left to the South Pacific to fight in the Second world War, she joined a local munitions factory in Burbank, California. It was the time when Marilyn got her first break. Photographer David Conover, was covering the munitions factory to show women at work. He was amazed by the beauty and photogenic nature of Monroe, and he used her in many of his shots. This enabled her to start a career as a model. In 1946, she divorced her young husband and changed her name from Norma Baker to the glamorous Marilyn Monroe. She learnt drama and got her first movie contract with Twentieth Century Fox. Her first few films were not so good, but, her role helped her in getting roles in films such as All About Eve, Niagara and later Gentleman Prefer Blondes and How To Marry A Millionaire. She was very famous figure of Hollywood. She was an epitome of sensuality, beauty and was naturally photogenic.
