A police sergeant has died after being sandwiched between two trucks in Fardipur. The dead is Saroj Kumar Roy, 57, a traffic police sergeant and resident of Kotalipara Upazila of Gopalganj district. He was supposed to retire on February 15 next year. Faridpur’s Assistant Police Commissioner Md Kamruzzaman said the victim was on a motorbike when the accident took place at Piarpur on the Nur Mia bypass in the district town on Wednesday morning. Two trucks sandwiched Saroj while he was performing duty on the road around 10:30am, leaving him dead on the spot, according to a news agency.
