Prabalgarh Fort

 

Prabalgad Fort is placed in the middle of Panvel and Matheran in the state of Maharashtra, in the Western Ghats at 2300 feet of height. The fort was based on a level near Matheran, however dissimilar to Matheran it doesn't have a decent wellspring of water. The fort  was called as Muranjan until it was assumed control and renamed by the Maratha constrains under Shivaji's standard.

 

Prabalgad fortification, or Muranjan post in its available structure, was assembled amid Bahmani Sultanate to keep an eye on Panvel Fort and Kalyan Fort in North Konkan. Around 1458 AD, Malik Ahmad, the head administrator of the kingdom of Ahmednagar, assumed control over the fortification amid his victory of Konkan. After breaking down of Bahmani Sultanate, this fortification stayed with the Ahmadnagar Sultanate. Amid the breakdown of the Ahmadnagar Sultanate, Shahaji had a go at helping them unsuccessfully against the different strengths of the Mughal Empire and the Adil Shahi administration and moved to Muranjan, alongside wife Jijabai and more youthful child Shivaji for a short period. However after Shahaji's thrashing and understanding of Mahuli, North Konkan, alongside this fortification, was ceded to Mughals who allowed decision power of the zone to Adilshah of Bijapur. The fortification was prevailed over by Shivaji in 1657 from the Mughals, after making himself in the Bhiwandi-Kalyan region. In the year 1826 Umaji Naik, a flexibility warrior, and his partners are accepted to have made this as their home for a short time of time.
