Nutrient media is very important thing in microbiology and without knowing how to prepare nutrient media no moicro research could be done.

chemicals:

1.Nutrient agar

2. dissitlled water

items/glassware

conical flask

cotton plug

aluminium foil

Procedure

First of all take nutrient agar in fixed quantity and mix it in distilled water.mix well in conical flask and cover it properly with cotton plug and aluminium foil.then place them in autoclave for 15 minutes at pressure of 10 to 15 psi.after that take  it in safety cabinet and pore this solution into petri plates.and let open for some time.after that cover the plates and place in frigh.these are ready for use.
