Ruins of Bhangarh

In the district of Alwar lies an isolated fort of Bhangarh. Bhangarh Fort is a historical site with most remarkable buildings and temples. Bhagwant Das established the fort for his younger son Sawai Madho Singh in the year 1573. After the death of Chhattra Singh the fort was declined. There are different stories in according to Legends, The City or the Fort of Bhangarh was the cursed by a Sadhu (Saint) Baba Balanath. The Saint permitted to build this fort under a condition that if the shadows of the palace touched him (Saint) than this city will be ruined.  As in the descendent prince of the palace unknowing raised the height of the palace, the Saint cursed the city. Now it is said that the Saint is buried in the fort as Samadhi. According to the other legends, the Princess Ratnavati was the most beautiful princess of Rajasthan and was known as the Jewel of Rajasthan.

An evil magician (Wizard) named Singhiya fell in love with the princess. However, he knew that he is no match for the princess in both status and Charm. Therefore, he used black magic on the perfume of the princess as the princess should come upfront and submit herself to the Wizard. Princess saw that the wizard has enchanted the perfume so she spilled it on the ground, which turned it into a stone. Because failing of his black magic the wizard turned into a stone and at the time of dying wizard curse the city of Being inhabited forever. These were the legends but even the Government of India has forbidden this site to be entered before sunrise and after sunset. Many tourist visit this historical site in the Daytime but are not allowed to stay even for a single minutes after the sunset. It is one of the most haunted places in India.
