The Indian Cuisine -Chicken Stew

Ingredients                                       Quantity

  1. Chicken                                 1 kg -medium size pieces
  2. Onion                                    2 medium, thinly sliced
  3. Green chilly                           6-7 nos
  4. Ginger and Garlic                  finely chopped
  5. Potato                                  2 nos in cube
  6. Cinnamon              
  7. Cardamon green                   5 nos
  8. Cloves                                  5 nos
  9. Pepper                    
  10. Salt
  11. Curry leaves
  12. Coconut Milk                          1 1/2 cup thick
  13. Coconut Milk                          1 cup thin
 
Instructions
  1. Grind cinnamon, cardamon and cloves
  2. Heat oil in a deep pan and add garam masala and stir it for a while
  3. Add onions,green chilly, ginger and garlic, curry leaves and keep stirring until onions become translucent. Note that onions are not brown.
  4. Add potato cubes now 
  5. Add chicken and mix well.
  6. Add light coconut milk at this point of time and cover it to cook in medium flame.
  7. When chicken is fully cooked add thick coconut milk.
  8. reduce the flame and let it cook for 5 mins.
  9. Add pepper and salt as per your taste.
  10. Garnish it with cashew nuts and serve hot with Appam
