One of my friend in Film Annex "Josh Presuto" is planning to start a web site for Short films and Independent features.
Film is an art of story telling, through which we learn and share.
Movie theaters bring films to great heights. But do movie theaters bring all films to great heights? Not many websites stream short and independent films. These films tend to get lost in the mass media of different websites that they do get uploaded on. Piles of videos get stack upon them in turn hiding them from the eye the viewer. Most just disappear never to be seen again. Others get pirated and don't look nice and crisp as the films should look.
Practically everyone would say that there is no money in short films, even I heard it so many times when I approached with my short film to producers for marketing.
So here my friend Josh comes in, he is planning to start a website to not only display but pay filmmakers short and independent films. A website that is advertisement free so you can watch what you want when you want without having to wait. To get into this website you will need to pay a small fee of five dollars a month for unlimited access to shorts and features.
Josh says :
The bigger we fund this project though more accessible this website will be. If we reach a goal of $10,000 we will put the website on mobile devices. If we reach $15,000 we will strive to put the website on media streamers to stream straight to your TV. The more you donate and the more you spread the word ,the bigger and more successful not only the site will be but film will be. This is going to completely change the course of Film. Independent filmmakers will have more opportunity to make the films they want without having to worry about the budgeting problems. This website is to help make dreams come true and to get independent and short film makers work finally pay off. Educating the normal world and letting everybody into the world of movies.
