Padmavaat hardly depicts any truth about Alauddin Khilji.

It must be said that since BJP won elections in India few years back, Things started go wrong as the party holders of BJP started a sorts of troubles and created a lot of hinderances for minorities. This has been a trend for the past two years. Even now the country's biggest industry, Bollywood has resorted to use such rhetoric that will serve the interests of those powerful people in BJP who dream of pure Hindutva land. Recently, I happened to watch Padmaavat which turned out to be really dissappointing as Alauddin Khilji was projected as meat eating and lusty character who wants to badly have Padmavati by her side. Most Historians have refuted the personality shown by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his movie and said that Khilji did a lot of good things administratively to make sure he promote and create welfare for common man at that time in the sub-continent.

Bhansali completely loses the plot as the story could have made in a much better way. He should have taken a leaf out of industry colleague and accomplished director Ashutosh Gowarikar who made Jodha Akbar that was widely accepted as a good portrayal of history. Bhansali idea that all Rajputs are saints and protect their women till death while Muslims invaders were all lustful and murderers will not go down with many movie goers.

I think it is safe to say that Bhansali has joined the bandwagon of those right-winged extremists who try their utmost to show Muslims in India in a negative manner.
