PROBLEMS OF MAVERICS

Everybody was excited to watch the Dallas Mavericks on how they are going to perform this 2014-2015 season. Many basketball analysts said that they are now a championship contender because of what the management did during the off season. The main reason for this is the acquisition of 2011 championship member Tyson Chandler from the New York Knicks and veteran point guard Raymond Felton while giving up Jose Calderon, Shane Larkin, and Samuel Dalembert. Many said that it was an upgrade in the defensive end due to the presence of Tyson Chandler.

Another thing is the signing of Chandler Parsons defeating the Houston Rockets with the offer of almost 46 million dollars for three years. We are also grateful for resigning our important free agents Dirk Nowitzki and Devin Harris. Mavericks are also happy with the signings of veterans Richard Jefferson, Jameer Nelson, Charlie Villanueva, and the coming back JJ Barea, also a member of the 2011 championship team. Meanwhile, all are upset due to the lost of Shawn Marion and Vince Carter. Mavericks perimeter defense degrade a little. But the management sign athletic and young defenders like Alfarouq Aminu and Greg Smith which put a solution to the defense.

Currently, the Mavericks stand 4-3 win-loss record. It is still above .500 winning percentage. But the problem is, they loss to all contender teams like Portland Trailblazers, defending champs San Antonio Spurs and recently to 2006 and 2011 finals rival Miami Heat. All are crushing and upset defeats. Currently, coach Carlisle looks like to be still experimenting with the final rotation of his roster. The Mavericks also have a 3rd quarter problems. They are always outscored during the 3rd quarter. They are giving many easy shots and easy lay ups. The Rockets are still looking good in spite of losing Chandler Parsons while Parsons Game is still ups and downs. Many fans now doubt that he is over paid. Remember, Nowitzki take a huge pay cut during the off season just to win talented free agents. But in spite of this, the Mavericks are still struggling. What should be the problem?

Anyway, it is still early and just starting the month of November. The chemistry is not yet there. Let’s all just put our trust to Coach Rick Carlisle, future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki, and Speedy guard Monte Ellis and watch for the bouncing back Chandler Parsons to prove every doubters wrong. The Mavericks are struggling as well as the strong line up of Cleveland Cavaliers right now. Remember, the ball is round and I see that every team gotten stronger. Let’s wait and see what will happen to the Mavericks by watching their next coming games.
